The lukwata is a semiaquatic animal described in the vicinity of Lake Victoria in Africa.
There are a few conflicting descriptions of the lukwata, but it is often described with a long neck and a small head.
The lukwata has a booming roar which can be heard . Its only natural enemy is the crocodile, which it is sometimes seen fighting. During these fights, it often loses bone fragments which are prized as charms.
It is known to appear suddenly and attack fishing boats, and in one account tried to seize a man off the bow of a steam tug, nearly capsizing the vessel.
